Straight up or on the rocks?


This is another personal preference. Most bartenders don't ask and will assume you want it straight up (neat). I prefer it that way myself. The cocktail should already be properly chilled from stirring, and hopefully the bartender has chilled the glass as well, so extra ice isn't necessary and only dilutes the cocktail. Besides, the clear Manhattan is a beautiful thing to behold! Why muddy its waters with a bunch of rocks?
